Welcome back after the weekend. Hope you have all managed to relax and enjoy some time with your families.
Online at the moment there are some zoos streaming live videos of the animals. Have a look- some great videos of the animals in their environment. Have a go at phonics play this week to play the buried treasure game we play in school.
Keep smiling Class 1,

Hi Class 1, there seems to have been an issue with the class 1 page overnight. I am not sure what has happened. Luckily Mr Kemp is a Computer Science teacher and managed to fix it. Let me know if there are any more issues. Take care, Mrs Kemp

Friday 3rd April 2020
Well done on completing two whole weeks of home schooling. You have done brilliantly and made our school proud with all of your hard work. There will be no work set next week so try and do lots of Easter activities to keep yourselves busy. I would love to see photos or receive emails over the week but may not be as speedy to reply. Happy Easter time. Enjoy some time with you family and in the garden with the nice weather. Mrs Kemp xxx
The CCP Eater Party Document is from the Children's Changing Places group, which is linked to the Diocese, they have asked every school to share this resource with their families. There are some nice Easter activities included. It might just give you some nice ideas of things to do as a family during what would have been the official Easter break- these are not things you must do though.
The Power of Kindness File is from the British Red Cross, it is a calendar of kindness template for the month, which again is just something optional you may wish to do over Easter or April.
Class 1, Mrs Angold has sent me this to share with you to have a try with. Take care and Happy Easter, Mrs Kemp!
I thought it would be nice to all share some messages on Purple Mash and at the same time see some familiar faces and what better way to do that than with a mashcam and your class blog!
- Open the To Do called ‘Mashcam Messages’– first play the message by pressing the Green triangle. You will then hear my message to you and it will give you an idea of what to do! After you have seen my mashcam message to you, simply save and exit and hand it in (then I will know who has seen the message).
- Next, you will need to make sure you have a device that has a camera (mobile phones are great as are ipads/tablets) - without it you can’t take that all important selfie!
- Next type the word ‘mashcam’ into the Purple Mash search bar (it has the magnifying glass) If you have done this correctly you will then see 3 images – select the middle image of a robot head with no face. This will open into a new page. Now all you have to do is choose a mashcam, take a picture and write your message! Job done.
- When you are happy with your mashcam please save it to your work folder – remember make sure your file name makes sense. For example’ Mrs Angold’s mirror mashcam’.
- Once you have saved it you can share it on your class blog called ‘Mashcam Messages’ which I have set up for you.
- To see someone’s full message on the blog just double click the image
SHARING YOUR WORK: If you can’t remember how to do this – no worries!
- Re-Open your mashcam work, 2.
- click the hamburger/menu icon (top left)
- click the share icon (the earth with an arrow wrapped around it)
- Finally select the ‘blog’ icon on the right (the one with an image of two mountains and a sun).
- Give it a title and add a description if you want to
- Your work will then appear in the class Mashcam Message Blog.
Can’t wait to see your messages! Remember when posting be kind and respectful of others!

Lockdown Help and Advice.
As Special Needs Co-ordinator for St Saviours, I have been liaising with some of our outside agencies during this school closure. They have provided the documents below for families and children during this lockdown period. These documents have been aimed at families that are using their agencies so please do not be put off by the terminology i.e. 'children with learning difficulties'. They have some very helpful information in that can help with children struggling to understand the situation and with their anxieties etc.
The first document talks a lot about how to support yourself and your child emotionally through this period and the second gives ideas of how to help your child with routines at home. The visual time table in the second document has lots of school work timetabled in, I do not advise you to do this much. Spending time playing, being with the family and doing day to day activities are much more important. You do not have to use them, however thought it would be good to share.

Monday 18th May 2020
Hi Class 1, hope you have had a great weekend. Really sorry I have not completed this week gallery yet or answered Friday's emails, there seems to be an issue with the remote access. As soon as I can get on which I hope is this weekend I will add them both to the page. I have contacted the ICT team to help sort the problem. Hope you are all well. Keep up the amazing work, Mrs Kemp.

Tuesday 19th May 2020
Hi Class 1, I hope you are all well. I have just managed to get back on to the network so I will be emailing you all back ASAP. Sorry it has taken a while, the ICT team have worked hard today to get me back on the system,
I am looking forward to reading your kind acts from today. Today when I was out for a walk and cycle with Mr Kemp and Alice, I saw some litter on the floor. I picked it up and put it in the bin (and then washed my hands!). Being kind to the environment is important!
Quote of the day - No act of kindness, no matter how small is ever wasted.

Hi Class 1, I can't believe is already Friday! The week goes so fast! Hope you have enjoyed your acts of kindness this week. I have loved seeing what you have been doing at home. Brilliant photos coming in and pictures of work. You now have a two week half term break, there will be no work set, however if you would like to share some photos of your adventures and activities I am happy to post some in a gallery at the end of the two weeks. Remember to look after your families and help them at home. Keep up your positive attitudes. When you sing the Friday dance song today remember the ending will be 'no more school for 2 weeks!', instead of 2 days! Best wishes for a sunny half term, Mrs Kemp
Quote of the day -Be silly, be honest, be kind!

Well done Class 1! Another fantastic week of learning. I know some of you will be in school this week in your new class bubbles. You will have a great time seeing each other face to face and some of the teachers from school. I will not be in school as I am still working from home. I have set all the work for you and will keep in touch with the teachers in school too. I miss you lots and will come and see you soon when the baby arrives!
If you are learning at home, which a lot of you still are, please feel free to do the work on any days you would like, especially for the foundation subjects. You can mix it up and change it around. The dates on there are only a guide.
I have been so impressed with your work. I hope you have been doing lots of fun family things too. Take care and keep telling me about your adventures! Mrs Kemp xxx

Hello Class 1, well what another fantastic week of home and school learning. I have heard so many great achievements from the children in their school bubbles and have been seeing some amazing home learning. Your families must be really proud. I know the class 1 teacher team are very proud of you. This is my last week of school work for you before your new teacher Miss Pollitt starts. She is a fabulous teacher and you will love her lessons.

Can you send any questions to the school office email initially and Miss Pollitt will let you know where to send them to when she starts. office@st-saviourringley,bolton.sch.uk
I will check the emails and upload a gallery tonight or tomorrow of this weeks super work! It will make me smile I am sure.
