Year 1

Hello Year 1,

As I am sure you know by now we are isolating. I have uploaded some work for today. Please just do what you can. I know it is difficult at home for lots of different reasons. Please do not feel you have to print everything out. Most activities can be completed by just writing your answers on plain paper.

I will be emailing a few children today to inform them that they are in Mrs Fairhurst's phonics group and will be working on Phase 3 sounds. If I do not contact you via email regarding this today please assume your child is completing the Phase 5 sounds.

If you have any questions or need help with anything at all please just email me on the class email - class1@st-saviourringley.bolton.sch.uk

It will also be lovely to see what you are doing at home so please send me any pictures of work.

Reading Books

I have managed to find a few reading books online. The books are not very long but will be good practice whilst we are not in school. There are three different levels -

Level 3 - Phase 3 phonics - If your child has a pink or red school level book.

Level 4 - Phase 4 phonics - If your child has a yellow school level book.

Level 5 - Phase 5 phonics - If your child has a blue, green or orange school level book.

Please bare in mind that your child may have changed reading book levels this week (if we had stayed in school) as they may have now changed phonics level. If you feel a book is too easy please try the next level up.

Year 1

Hello Year 1,

Firstly, I just want to start by saying I hope you all had a lovely relaxing Christmas and New Year!

I can't believe that we will not all be back together in class for a while! However, I will use this page to set home learning each day. This learning will try to link as much as possible to what we would have done in class but I will alter it to suit home learning.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me on the class email - class1@st-saviourringley.bolton.sch.uk

Each day I will provide an overview for the day along with any additional resources needed. Please do not feel you have to print each document. If I send a worksheet then the answers could just be written into a learning book you have at home or on some paper. Please keep any work completed so that your child can bring it into school once we return.

I am really hoping to be able to pop some pictures up in our classroom of the fantastic learning you have all been doing from home. However, if you haven't emailed me or sent me any pictures of your child's learning, it would be lovely to receive some from you. This way I hope every child will have rather a picture of themselves completing some work at home or a picture of a piece of work they are proud of on our 'Lockdown Learning' display. Hopefully, we will return to school soon and it will be something for them to look forward to seeing in class. Please send any pictures to the class 1 email address as soon as possible. Thank you!

It was so lovely to see you all on teams yesterday. I hope you all found getting on okay and are getting use to putting yourself on and off mute. If we keep practicing this I am hoping the children will become more independent when doing it and that will make the meetings flow a bit more. We will meet again at 9:30 this morning to chat about our work for the day. Hope to see you all then!

I will not be sending any homework or new spellings during this time. However, you could use your homework book to see which spellings your child has struggled with and you could continue to practice those. I know lots of children struggled with spelling the days of the week so that is definitely something extra that you could focus on if you wish.
