St Saviour C of E Primary School

Striving for excellence whilst caring for all

to Class 5

Class 5 have an interesting term ahead!

We are going to be looking at World War 2 and the effect the Blitz had on the local area and even our school.  We will look at primary sources of evidence, the school log books, to find out what impact it had on the lives of the local people.  We will end the half-term with a trip to Stockport Air Raid Shelters where we will dress up as evacuees all day and get a true sense of what life may have been like for children at the time.  The children will also have the opportunity to make food using traditional wartime rationed recipes and you never know, we may even have our own VE Day party!

Other topics that we will be looking at this term are the Saxons, quite a way back in time to evaluate the changes that have happened throughout.  We will also look at the science topics Animals and Humans and Life Cycles.

We are looking forward to everything this term will bring!
