The school work closely with Key Skills PE to deliver the PE curriculum. Half the sessions are delivered by Mr Fenton from Key Skills in years 1-5, in addition to this coaches also come in to deliver sessions in gymnastics and dance. Year 6 complete a swimming programme over a 2 week period. Local sports clubs also come in to offer sessions in Cricket, Rugby, Triathlon etc. Additionally a large number of sports clubs will take place throughout the year ensuring all children in Key Stage 1 and 2 have the opportunity to do a club. Overview of PE for the year (this is subject to change as coaches become available) - over the year the children will fulfil the recommended 2 hours of PE a week.
The school has been awarded Active Mark Gold and is currently working towards Platinum - this is in recognition of the PE the school offers and the wide range of activities the school participates in at a cluster, authority and local level. Our ambition is that no child will leave the school without having had the opportunity to represent the school at an event.
Much of our outdoor and adventurous activities are covered in our annual residential visits (2 days in year 3 and 4 and 3 days in year 5 and 6. Whilst away the children will do a range of adventurous activities such as climbing, 3G swing, abseiling, zip wire, ropes etc. We use Kingswood as a provider.
We run a number of sports teams in school in all age groups - these include:
- Cross Country
- Indoor Athletics
- Table Cricket
